8 April 2014 (Tues): Day 5 @ Vietnam

Last day here and felt kinda `unbearable’… Waited for a van to send us (me, Loi, Dillon, Law’s Dad n gf) to Huong’s house with our luggage. Went for breakfast again at the eatery which we were at yesterday before going to Huong’s house. Her relatives were busy packing boxes of goodies for her to bring back to Singapore ! We then boarded the van and before I knew, I saw her Mum, Sis and Dad etc coming in with us ! OMG…no wonder a van was needed ! Also, her house was packed with people sending us !
The journey was about 2 hours and did a stopover to collect the wedding DVD. Perhaps, her relatives seldom travelled long hour via `confined space’ vehicle as they were used to motor bikes; some of them were already puking ! I had to be careful when alighting from the van so as not to step on the puke ! Hmm…though I saw them using plastic bags ? In fact I was kinda worried that we might be late as our flight was 10.40am but we arrived at 9.30am which was less than 2 hour to check in. Moreover, the Q was long ! Some of the goodies boxes were returned back to her family as our total check in luggage were 100kg and over loading fee was not cheap ! O ya, Law’s Dad n gf took a later flight, thus only 5 of us so each was entitled 20kg of check in weightage. Luckily, the flight was also delayed till 11am so we still had time to relax a bit.
Cleared the gate, boarded the bus and walked up the steps to the plane. Reminded me of budget airline boarding at budget terminal in Singapore when it was still in operations. Smooth flight and before we knew, we already reached Singapore and after buying duty free alcohol, we proceeded to have McDonald as Law was carving for junk food because he wasn’t used to Vietnamese food. We then took cab home while Loi stayed behind to wait for his gf. To conclude, it was a fun trip especially when mixing with the kids and right company of friends ! Hopefully, the same gang could plan for another overseas trip again !
